STOP & FLOW™ Facilitator Ethics & Delivery Guidelines
Version 9.0 — 2025 Standard
Purpose of This Document
These guidelines ensure the safe, consistent, trauma-aware, and faithful delivery of the STOP & FLOW™ framework across all settings. Certified facilitators must adhere to these standards when representing, delivering, or discussing STOP & FLOW™ in any capacity.
SECTION I — ETHICAL FOUNDATIONS
1. Integrity of the Framework
STOP & FLOW™ is a trademarked, evidence-informed, eight-step embodiment framework.
Facilitators must deliver the method as taught in training—without altering steps, renaming techniques, blending other modalities, or modifying the sequence.
2. Fidelity & Consistency
Every session must include:
STOP (stillness meditations: Steps 1–4)
FLOW (movement meditations: Steps 5–8)
Approved pacing, cues, and flow
Pre- and post-assessment (SUD)
An intentional opening and closing: “Thank you for taking time to STOP & FLOW™ together.”
No components may be removed or replaced.
3. Participant Safety & Autonomy
All participation must be invitational.
Participants may sit, stand, or observe.
Facilitators must remain attentive to emotional activation and offer grounding options.
No touch unless clearly appropriate and consensual.
Respect all physical abilities and limitations.
4. Confidentiality & Professional Boundaries
Do not share participant stories, SUD data, or personal details without permission.
Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
Avoid over-sharing personal history or acting in a clinical role if not licensed to do so.
5. Trauma-Aware Communication
Use grounded, neutral, supportive language.
Avoid corrective statements, analysis, or interpretation of participant experiences.
Do not make promises or claims about outcomes or healing.
Be inclusive, relational, approachable for all beliefs.
6. Respect for Diversity & Inclusivity
STOP & FLOW™ is accessible for all populations, identities, ages, and ability levels.
Facilitators must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and inclusive language at all times.
