✨ What’s Trending? The Weighted Vest We Don’t Need to Carry

Last week in our STOP & FLOW group, nine women sat down with me carrying more than their fair share of weight. Not the kind of weight you measure with a scale or add with a weighted vest at the gym. This was emotional baggage — the kind that builds stress, burnout, and overwhelm until it feels like you can’t take one more step forward.

By the end of the session, the shift was undeniable. These women cried and hugged me in gratitude. They said, “I wish I had learned these steps sooner, before inpatient was needed again.” Others shared, “I’ve never felt this light before.”

What happened wasn’t about “doing” more. The power of STOP & FLOW rests in being — present with ourselves and with one another in ways that speak directly to the body. That being led to right action the women now felt compelled to take:

✨ Three who had been completely blocked picked up a pen and began writing again.
✨ One ran straight to the book cabinet to grab my book after putting it off for a month.
✨ Several left with a new sense of lightness, carrying possibility where stress had been.

These are small but profound markers of freedom. Not dramatic breakthroughs in a headline sense, but deeply human moments where the weight lifted, and the spirit could move again.

That’s what STOP & FLOW does. It interrupts the overwhelm, makes room for release, and gives the body permission to reset. It’s why women — and men too — keep telling me, “I’ve never felt like this before.”

Why this matters for professionals

If you’re a counselor, clinician, teacher, crisis responder, or caregiving professional, I want you to experience this same release — not just for your clients, but for yourself.

Our bodies know the toll that stress and secondary trauma take. And yet, when we learn to pause, reset, and flow again, we not only lighten our own load but also bring that freedom into every room we walk into.

That’s why I offer STOP & FLOW training for professionals alongside the work I do with recovery groups.

📍 On September 9 in Skaneateles, NY, I’ll be leading a STOP & FLOW Level 1 Training for Professionals — a full day to put the baggage down and reclaim your freedom.

From there, you can step into our Fall Facilitator Training (Sept 12–Nov 18) to bring STOP & FLOW to your clients and communities. The group of professionals already enrolled are excited to begin, and I’m honored to open this to a few more locally so together we can lighten the load in our shared CNY community.

Your Invitation

Stress will always find a way back into our bodies. We can remember it’s ok to move with its power and release it into the good. That life vest has been carrying us right along! I’ve seen it again and again: when the weight is acknowledged, the body opens, the pen moves, the book is finally picked up, and we recall how to flow with life on.

💡 Imagine what that kind of reset could mean for you — then for the people you serve.
