We're expanding. Happy Spring!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Have you ever marveled at how some moments stretch into eternity, while others vanish in the blink of an eye?

Have you reunited with someone after years and felt as if nothing has changed—or perhaps everything has, and you're connecting from a completely new place? It's a universal mystery, especially poignant for those of us feeling perpetually "short on time." What if we could create "timeless memories" not by escaping our routines but by infusing our days with intention and presence?

I'm currently living this realization, not on a leisurely escape but through a deliberate choice to mix work with precious moments of reconnection. Alongside my oldest daughter, taking a break from her demanding Med school schedule, we've melded travel, healing, and work into an enriching experience. This has reminded us that special occasions and locations, like the Spring Solstice, amplify our experiences, transforming simple seconds into profound memories.

Last evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, I watched from the beach, captivated as my daughter swam parallel to the shore. Take a look by clicking here. What seems effortless from afar demands skill and bravery—a stark reminder that going with the flow isn't for the faint-hearted. The ocean's invisible currents mirror our own life's push and pull. My daughter described how swimming in one direction felt stagnant, like being stuck, while the return was exhilarating, as if she was soaring through the water.

This empowering observation raises critical reflections for us all: How do we navigate life's currents? Are we always in tension? Not necessarily, as growth and aging are testaments to our progress and expansion. Our identity evolves within time, enriched each moment we turn "around" to introspect, rather than merely moving back and forth. What does "going with the flow" mean to you?

With the Spring Solstice upon us—a time of equilibrium and rejuvenation—it's the perfect moment to ponder these dynamics, particularly as we support others in their paths to healing and growth. This juncture invites us to embrace life's dualities and find harmony with nature's forces and the sands of time.

YOUR THOUGHTS MATTER:

How have you experienced time as expansive, beyond its mechanical ticking? How do you maintain balance and find renewal, especially during pivotal moments like the Spring Solstice?

This season of growth and enlightenment is a perfect canvas for our exploration of time, presence, and the unforgettable memories we forge each day. Let's seize this opportunity for reflection, connection, and transformation. Email me your thoughts! I’d love to hear from you and if I can ever help just let me know.

Warmest regards,

Kristin Onderdonk

This Week's Connect to Calm Tip: Embrace the Creationary Measures of Time

In honor of the Spring Solstice and our dedication to recovery, addiction, and mental health, here are a few strategies to master the currents of time:

  • Scheduled Self-Care: Incorporate short, intentional self-care breaks into your daily schedule. Putting these acts of kindness towards yourself into time can enhance your ability to assist others.

  • Slowed Down Listening: Engage in active, mindful listening during conversations. This approach not only strengthens connections but can also alter your perception of time, infusing each moment with significance.

  • Gratitude Growth Reflections: Conclude each day with a brief moment of gratitude reflecting on what you’ve already grown from. This practice can ground you in the present, deepening your appreciation for life's progress in retrospect.

  • Flexible Boundaries: Establish and communicate adaptable boundaries for yourself and those you support. Acknowledging the natural ebb and flow of energy and capacity can help you navigate with time on your side, more effectively.
